Transformation

This family fell in love with and bought this single storey, slab on grade home built in the mid-sixties, but yearned for more space. To meet their needs we expanded up, down and out to by adding a second storey, a new 10 foot high basement and pushed the back of the house out 15 feet to completely transform the home. Having recently moved from England to Vancouver, the family put a priority on fireplaces, natural light and quality woodwork. Highlights include two NanaWall folding glass doors opening the patio to the family room, all new mechanical and electrical systems, a finely detailed iron railing emphasizing the main staircase, oiled hardwood floors, a rustic wood island, cedar shake siding and decorative wood accents on the exterior. We were able to maintain the natural beauty of two wood burning fireplaces that included stone surrounds shipped from their home in England.
